Breakdown:
(Forgive my lack of research of Italian Renaissance fashion. My terms are going to be bastardized modern slang)
Layer 1: Innermost layer, dress shirt
Layer 2: Long trench coat vest, first of the "tails"
Layer 3: Crappy layer that only serves to fill in blanks and will look horrible by itself
Layer 4: The layer everyone that everyone sees and every cosplayer hates.
I did do 65% - 70% of layer 1. Light beige-y twill. Save for frills, collar, lace cuffs (According to a concept art, his cuffs got torn open by the hidden blade, lol) and grommets (I'm gonna make it lace up!)
Layer 2 is about 40% - 50% complete. Used dark gray, stretched cotton/twill mix for the outside and a stiff, dark red orange twill for the lining. Which doesn't make sense since the underlining is supposed to be thinner. (What was I thinking!?) Have to remember how to attach the lining on though. Then I shall add the collar and that weird yellow band. After that, gotta buy fabric inks, some softoleum and steal a gouger from school. <.< I really hope my stamping idea works. It's either that or I have to make a stencil.
Edit: I've decided to try at silk screening. Didn't consider it before since the method I knew was cheapo and 1 time use with mesh and PVA glue. Gonna research the proper way.
I have the fabric for layer 3. Haven't cut into it though. It's a lighter gray with a vivid red underlining. Both are thin in hopes of heat reduction. Red is cotton broadcloth (Love it. 'Cept when it shrinks when I iron it. With the lowest setting.) and the gray is some fabric that I can't identify with my limited knowledge.
I also made his necklaces. Though the one with the beads is quite thin and the other is quite thick. Used a 3mm cord for both. Braided it for the longer necklace.
Schedule!!
I'm also doing a Yuuko (xxxHolic) cosplay! XD Volume 3 cover outfit! Lots of beading! Yeay!
I gotta sew the blank dress before the temperature gets too cold as my sewing room's in my garage.
Then I will bead and tool and make most of the accessories during the cold months.
In terms of researching for Ezio. I think I'm feeling pretty confident for the leather work. I've been picking at *fevereon and referred some of her tutorials. I still have to look around online about casting but thanks to fev, I've got an okay idea.
Err. I think that's it. Long as entry. More for myself to jot down progress.
